Even as technology advances, and analysts have faster ways of producing and disseminating their research, the job of the sell-side analyst has remained almost the same, Hyman says. Over the course of his career, he stated that "the demand from the buy side hasn't changed, and almost no firms have the inclination to do research in-house."
